VOLUNTEER

Heights CareerTech Institute’s volunteer program connects caring community members with adults working to improve their education and prepare for successful careers. Volunteers provide individualized support in areas such as GED preparation, math, reading and writing, English-language skills and career readiness.

Volunteer opportunities include serving as a GED tutor, math tutor, reading and writing coach, ESL conversation partner or career readiness mentor. Scheduling is flexible, and no previous teaching experience is required—volunteers receive orientation and training. The goal is to help adult learners build skills, confidence and the educational foundation they need to continue their education, earn credentials and pursue family-supporting careers. Adult GED and English-language education have long been part of The Heights Foundation’s educational programming.
